“I’m packin’ and I know how to use it!”

I’m not going to go too deeply into what is happening in New Orleans right now. Here are a few thoughts on my mind though.

* Don’t let them take our guns away. Fight legislation that wants to remove your right to own firearms and ultimately protect yours and your childrens lives.

* OWN a firearm!

* LEARN how to use it!

* Be prepared to USE it!

The one question that comes up frequently from our children regarding the “war in Iraq” is: Will the war come here?

My husband and I answer in various ways depending on what we preceive their ultimate concern is at the moment. Mostly, we remind them that it all ready is. As Christians we are in a constant battle with the “the” enemy (Satan) and his cohorts! We must be ever vigilant, know what (and Who) the Truth is and stand our ground!

Then, to address their immediate physical safety concerns, we tell them that we don’t know what the future holds and that, yes, “war” could be at our doorstep when we least expect it. The flooding and misery taking place in New Orleans is a prime example. When it comes right down to it, don’t be afraid of what man can do to you! Be ready to fight even if it means being hurt or killed! Defend those younger and/or weaker than yourselves! Stand for what’s right no matter what! When war comes to the “home front”, women as well has men need to be tough and strong! Don’t just stand behind your man loading his weapon for him. While that’s all fine and good, be ready to take up a weapon yourself and add more “manpower” if necessary!

I don’t want to seem uncaring…looking at the images on the news saddens me greatly and I’ve shed a few tears. However, mosly I want to shake these people! Wake them up! Empower them spiritually first! Physically second!

Common sense is nearly non-existant these days… More importantly, saving Faith and the life it leads to is too.

God be meriful unto us, and bless us; and cause his face to shine upon us; That thy way may be known upon earth, thy saving health among all nations. Let the people praise thee, O God; let all the people praise thee. O let nations be glad and sing for joy: for thou shalt judge the people righteously and govern the nations upon earth. Let the people praise thee, O God; let all the people praise thee. Then shall the earth yield her increase; and God, even our own God, shall bless us. God shall bless us; and all the ends of the earth shall fear Him. Psalm 67
